About the
TOGETHER Project
The opioid epidemic has hit Maryland children and families hard. Lighthouse recognizes that when a loved one is in the grip of opioid addiction, the whole family is affected. We have developed a program to address the needs of children and teens whose lives have been changed by the opioid abuse of a parent or guardian. The TOGETHER Project offers groups for children, teens, and their caregiving adults, whether parents, grandparents, other relatives, or family friends.
The goals of the groups are to increase resilience, hope, and optimism in these children and their families; to strengthen family bonds; to share coping strategies; to prevent a next generation of addiction; and to connect families with other community supports as needed.
